No Press Conference From Nintendo at E3 2013

Newly appointed Nintendo of America CEO Satoru Iwata, has revealed today via a financial results briefing stating “we decided not to host a large-scale presentation targeted at everyone in the international audience where we announce new information as we did in the past. Instead, at the E3 show this year, we are planning to host a few smaller events that are specifically focused on our software lineup for the U.S. market. There will be one closed event for American distributors, and we will hold another closed hands-on experience event, for mainly the Western gaming media.”

Iwata went on to explain. That during the E3 period they will be utilizing tools such as Nintendo direct and smaller conferences to deliver information about their games catered towards both the East and western audiences accordingly.

While I didn’t expect them to cancel their press conference entirely, I’m excited that Nintendo will be focusing on their software lineup for E3. We have plenty of news for 3DS games and the year of Luigi. I want to start seeing some more Wii-U titles in the works, like Project P-100. This E3 is shaping up to be one to remember folks.
