Nintendo of Australia have announced that the newly announced 2DS will release in Australia on October 12th. The RRP will be AU $149.95 or NZ $179.95. The carry case that was also revealed will be sold separately.
Nintendo have stated that the Nintendo 2DS is aimed at children 7 and under. It will aim to ease the concerns of parents by removing the 3D function. The handheld is the first DS to not feature the famous chamshell design. The console still features WIFI and pretty much every other feature that we’ve come to know and love from the 3DS console.
It will be released in Australia in Blue/Black & White/Red. We predict that it’ll have a big launch alongside Pokemon X & Y.
