Xbox One Exceeds 5 Million Sales Worldwide

According Xbox corporate vice president of marketing, strategy and business, Yusuf Mehdi. The Xbox One has exceeded 5 Million Units sold worldwide. Outpacing the Xbox 360 by more then 60 percent. The Xbox One reportedly sold 311, 000 in the US in March, the same month Titanfall came out. Also earning the game the most sold game in the US in the month of March as announced by the NPD Group. One thing worth noting, this number of hardware sales is based on the number of units Sold-in to retailers. Where as the recent number of PS4’s sold was 7 Million Units to consumers, as announced by Sony.

Despite trailing behind the PS4 by almost 2 Million Units, The ratio of Software sold to Hardware sold equals roughly to 2.9 games per console for both the PS4 and the Xbox One. So in some aspects, the Xbox One and the PS4 are on equal ground. Competition in the industry is heating up, and I can’t wait to see where things go from here. The upcoming months and this coming E3 will be really interesting, to say the least.
