Metro Redux Official Release Date

UPDATE: Metro Redux has now been delayed in Australia. It will arrive on September 4th with an RRP of $79.95.

In an announcement via Deep Silver (publisher), it has been announced that the upcoming ‘remake’ of Metro 2033 and Metro: Last Light known as Metro: Redux will be available for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on August 26. The game comes to Europe three days later on August 29.

The game will cost $50, and comes packed with both games, boasting not only visual improvements, but gameplay improvements such as “advanced enemy AI, improved combat and stealth mechanics, superior weapon handling, and more responsive, intuitive controls.” Those who had played the original Metro 2033 can attest to it’s poor stealth AI, and hopefully this Redux will improve in those regards. All DLC comes included with Redux, including the (in)famous Ranger Mode.

PC users can rest easy, as those who already own the original two games (very likely given the Steam Summer Sale happening right now) will be able to purchase Redux at 50% off the regular price. Linux and SteamOS versions of the games are also at work, due to be released sometime later in 2014.
