Sony Leads Strong Year For Gaming in Australia

Sony Australia confirmed yesterday that the PS4 drove significant growth of the $2.46 billion that the Australian interactive entertainment industry reached in 2014. PlayStation held the market leadership position in interactive entertainment in 2014.

Sony announced that PlayStation 4 was the number one selling home console last year and as reported earlier, the PS4 was the fastest selling home console in Australian history. The PS4 leads the charge with 60% market value share. Sony also revealed that multi-platform games were successful for Sony with 20 of the biggest selling titles selling better on PS4. Sony also announced that 95% of PS4s are connected to the internet in Australia. This is well above the percentage of PS3s connected to the internet.
