Campaign Missing From Last-Gen Versions Of Call of Duty: Black Ops III

Activision have announced some more details on the Xbox 360 and Playstation 3 versions of Call of Duty: Black Ops III, and it’s some news that might leave some fans disappointed.

Given Black Ops III’s new focus on four player co-operative play with a more open style of level design, the developers of the last-gen versions (Beenox and Mercenary Technology) were unable to recreate this experience on these consoles. As such, the campaign will be fully omitted.

So what do you get when you grab the game on Xbox 360 or Playstation 3? You’ll get the fully featured Multiplayer mode and the new and unique Zombies mode, known as “Shadows of Evil”. All the bells and whistles of these modes – including the new movement system and specialist classes – will still appear in these versions of the game. Similarly, the Weapon Paint Shop and eSports Tools previously shown for the game will also be exclusive to the Xbox One, Playstation 4 and PC versions of the game.

Activision also announced that in select regions any Xbox 360 or Playstation 3 versions of the game will also include a downloadable copy of the original Black Ops game too.

Call of Duty: Black Ops III will be available Australia-wide on November 6th, 2015.
