Square Enix has dropped a playable demo for the upcoming sequel in the long-running SaGa franchise, SaGa Emerald Beyond, which is set to launch on April 25th for PS5, PS4, Switch, PC and mobile.
The first new title in the series since 2018/2019’s SaGa Scarlet Grace: Ambitions, SaGa Emerald Beyond boasts “the greatest number of branching plots of any game in the SaGa series,” with the story changing depending on players’ choices and actions, and is set to continue the series’ trademark strategic “Timeline Battles” with more flexibility and strategy than ever.
This SaGa Emerald Beyond demo features gameplay from the opening of protagonist Tsunanori Mido’s story, and allows players to experience the highly strategic command battle system that epitomises the SaGa franchise. It’s available right now on the PlayStation Store and Nintendo Switch eShop, and will launch on Steam within the day.
