Will Ferrell is set to bring his comedic gold to the world of Esports. Legendary, Mosaic and Gary Sanchez have all teamed up to start creating an untitled film that is set to be about the world of Esports.
Ferrell is set to portray a professional gamer in the movie. The plot is set to revolve heavily around the fact that Esports players enter the scene as young as 15 and can retire from the highest level of competition in their early 20s. This is due to the top players earning hundreds of thousands of dollars through their career.
It’s said that his performance will draw similarities to the roles that he had in Talladega Nights and The Anchorman.
It is also being reported that both Evil Geniuses and Fnatic are in discussions to participate in the film. The Evil Geniuses have been large contendors in DOTA 2, winning the International 2015 and 2016 Autumn Edition of the MarsTV Dota 2 League.
Fnatic have fielded several top-tier squads in DOTA 2, League of Legends and Counter-Strike: Global Offensive.
