The Adelaide Crows Have Purchased A Major Aussie Esports Team

The Adelaide Crows Football Club has announced that they’ve purchased Legacy Esports. Legacy is one of Australia’s eight top-tier teams that competes in Oceanic League of Legends tournaments.

It’s understood that Legacy will keep its name and branding at this stage, but it is possible that Legacy could take on the Adelaide Crows’ name as well as their branding and colours.

The deal was apparently driven by Crows’ dual premiership player and current Chief Operating Officer Nigel Smart. It is also being reported that the Crows were interesting in other Sports teams. It’s thought that the deal is worth somewhere in the six-figure sum.

This comes on the back of the revelation earlier this month that the AFL were keen to host an Esports event at Etihad Stadium in Melbourne.
