Team Pick is a feature where the Team here at Press Start, gives you a run down on the latest games coming out in the good ‘ol land down under. While we’re at it, we share our personal picks and why we’re excited about them!

November is the biggest month that gaming has seen in quite a few years. It will see the release of some of Nintendo’s biggest franchises and will mark the launch of the PS4 and the Xbox One. It’ll definitely be an interesting month for all gamers!

Please bear in mind that these dates are subject to change, and some games are still to have dates to be announced. We will do our best to update the article as changes occur.

TEAM PICKS

NOV Kevin
Due to sitting out on next-gen consoles this year, I’ll be going for COD Ghosts too. The engine may be shamefully outdated, the gameplay barely moving forward and the focus on the ‘dog’ laughable, but nevertheless I always fold and buy the next installment. I see no reason why this won’t change.

NOVDIEGO
I am not getting the game straight away, but Knack is my pick. When I saw the trailer the first time back in E3, I was extremely hooked. The game reminded me of days past when I used to play Spyro and Crash Bandicoot until my thumbs fell off. I really yearn for games that make me feel like a kid again, wash my worries away, and give me cheerful laughs. KNACK!!

NovJAKE
Ratchet and Clank: Into The Nexus will most probably be my final game purchase for the PS3 and I see no finer way to end it with a game that concludes a story told this generation of gaming. I was fortunate enough to get a small preview earlier on of this game and it had me instantly hooked in particular a few of the new weapons that will be available. A perfect way to end a relationship with my PS3 that has been with me since my first game purchase which was in fact the first Ratchet and Clank game of the PS3 series.

NOVSHANNON
For me it has to be Killzone Shadowfall. I’ve played every game in the series to date and always enjoyed my time with them but not been blown away. After playing Killzone Shadowfall this is completely changed. The game has taken a completely different approach in its art style and it gives the game a new life. Not only this but the Dualshock 4 feels absolutely incredible for playing First Person Shooters so I feel that this is one game that a lot of people are overlooking.

NOVJOSHUA
After the multiplayer reveal of Ghosts and now the Extinction trailer, I need to play the new COD. The graphics are amazing, the gameplay is smooth and efficient and you get to battle in space. I’m not sure what else I need to say, I’m sure it’ll be a massive release like every one before it.

NovJohn
The Legend of Zelda: A Link between Worlds: Much like many others, I love the Legend of Zelda. A Link between worlds is a sequel to a Link to the past. So it’s safe to assume, that this will be a return to what 2D Zelda games do best. Not to mention, A Link between world is the first Original Zelda title we have seen since 2011’s Skyward Sword.
