The Bureau: XCOM Declassified DLC Revealed

2K has announced plans to release a number of narrative-driven DLC packs for The Bureau: XCOM Declassified. The game is being developed at the BioShock 2 studio 2K Marin. The game centres around a squad of Cold War era Bureau agents dispatched to Rosemont, Georgia on a mission to overcome an unknown threat and keep the incident concealed from the public.

2K Marin development director Morgan Gray said: “The alternate 1962 universe that we’ve created for The Bureau is vast and there are many more stories to tell about the early days of XCOM. We’re excited that our stories will provide a new perspective on the war effort, much like how our critically acclaimed Minvera’s Den DLC for BioShock 2 allowed us to present a unique perspective of Rapture.”

Those who pre-order The Bureau: XCOM Declassified through participating retailers will receive access to a bonus campaign side-mission called Codebreakers, in which players are sent to investigate a communications facility that has gone dark. Additionally, players who pre-order from GameStop will receive the Light Plasma Pistol as an exclusive in-game item.

Whilst the  DLC will be released on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC, the first add-on pack will be exclusive to Microsoft’s console.

The Bureau: XCOM Declassified is coming out on August 23rd in Australia
