E3 2014: Meloetta Revealed For Super Smash Bros.

This was unexpected.

When I think of characters who could appear in the upcoming Smash Bros. games, I didn’t think we would see another Pokemon. So to my surprise, series director Sakurai has uploaded a screenshot to the Miiverse of the fifth generation musical legendary Meloetta has joined the fray.

Attached to the screenshot was the following: –

Remember the video that introduced Greninja joining the battle? Every Pokémon that appeared in that video will make some kind of appearance in Super Smash Bros! By the way, here’s one of the Pokémon that didn’t make an appearance in that video–Meloetta. Its vocal attacks reflect off land forms, so they’ll be especially effective in a closed environment.

While it’s yet to be confirmed if Meloetta is a playable character, assist trophy or Pokemon appearing from a Pokeball, we’ll hopefully hear more later on in the week.
