EA announces Mass Effect: Andromeda for Holiday 2016 Release

EA wasted no time opening their E3 2015 press conference with a brand new trailer announcing the next title in the Mass Effect series. While the trailer didn’t appear to be gameplay, EA promises it has been captured using in-engine footage that is representative of the gameplay experience.

The trailer features an unnamed protagonist flicking through planets and galaxies before deploying a MAKO-like vehicle to the planet surface. Once there, the character engages enemies in combat.

MEA_smallDetails are incredibly sparse at the moment, but it looks like Mass Effect: Andromeda, which is scheduled for release during the holiday season of next year, will have a returned emphasis on exploration similar to the original Mass Effect game. The game will also take place in an entirely different galaxy to the original trilogy.

We’ll have more details as they come, but for now, enjoy the announcement trailer below.
