In a post by PlayStation’s EU blog, Shuhei Yoshida has reported that the supposed ‘early access’ copies of Uncharted 4 that surfaced in the UK were actually the result of theft, and not a broken street date.

In the post, Yoshida mentions that the copies “were stolen in transit”, and that PlayStation is currently working with the authorities in what is seemingly a bigger “ongoing criminal investigation”, with the copies showing up in the UK. There is no word as of yet of the supposed leaked copies in the United States.

The post has cast some doubt across the gaming community, with users on Twitter suggesting it may be a cover for an accidental early-release, which of course would break street date and incur penalties.

More details as they come to hand.
