Rumours have emerged regarding the demise of Lionhead Studios, which recently shut its doors after the company announced that it would stop production permanently.
Kotaku UK has reported that several sources have noted that the studio was apparently up for sale prior to its demise, and that several buyers were making offers to take over the Microsoft-owned dev. However, sources also noted that the apparent exclusion of the Fable IP led buyers to walk away from the deal.
Microsoft has not responded to the rumours as of yet, though it is likely that the publisher could very well be against the sale of their IP to use it on their own in the future with a different developer.
