Nordic Games has become THQ Nordic

Nordic Games has officially announced that the company will be functioning under a new name as of today. Rebranded as ‘THQ Nordic’, the company has purchased all remaining assets of the now defunct publisher THQ.  Nordic acquired the rights to most of THQ’s library after their demise, which included flagship franchises such as Darksiders and Red Faction, after which the company has now acquired the trademarks to the THQ logo and name.

The change, according to THQ Noric, “represents a core approach of doing much more than ‘owning’ a highly competitive portfolio of IP.” and that the name change symbolizes the “next phase in our company’s evolution.”

The company has stated that it currently has 23 projects in development, of which 13 have yet to be publicly announced, with the majority of the projects being based on former THQ properties.
