Epic’s Fortnite Confirmed For Console Release

Epic’s curious role-playing builder game, Fortnite, has now been confirmed for a home console release with paid early access commencing on July 25. For those wanting to frog leap the pack and splash a little extra coin, pre-ordering a Founders Pack will get you in four days earlier on July 21.

First revealed all the way back in 2011 at the Spike Video Game Awards, Fortnite is a third-person action building horde-defense survival game that packs in crafting, looting and a levelling system. It’s certainly full to the brim of things to do by the sounds of things.

Epic has suggested Fortnite will include a Diablo-style RPG system, along with a number of player classes and hero characters.

Fortnite, developed jointly by Epic Games and People Can Fly, arrives on early access July 25 across PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Microsoft Windows and macOS. The final release is expected in 2018 and will be free-to-play.
