Super Mario Maker Is Coming To 3DS, But It’s Missing Some Key Features

Nintendo have revealed that Super Mario Maker is coming to the Nintendo 3DS. It’s largely the same experience as the Wii U, with 100 courses designed by Nintendo playable right out of the box. It’ll also have addiotinal challenges such as collecting every coin or defeating every enemy,

It’ll also let you create levels, just like the Wii U version. It includes every singel tool and course part from the Wii U version, but it unfortunetely won’t include any any of the Mystery Mushrooms or Mario costumes, which is unforunate as this was one of my favourite parts of Super Mario Maker on the Wii U.

Also missing, is some of the online functionality, which was one of the most sucessful parts of Super Mario Maker on the Wii U. You will be able to play other people’s creations such as the 100 Mario Challenge, btu you won’t be able to find specific courses like you can on the Wii U version. It’s a much more guided experience on the 3DS, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but it definitely takes away some of the shine.

Super Mario Maker will be available in Australia on December 3rd.
