I’ve been anticipating Playtonic’s Yooka-Laylee for some time, but the latest trailer the shows local co-op as well as arcade multiplayer and it looks absolutely fantastic.
In the main campaign, another player can take control of the Bee Team. As the second player, you’ll be able to collect butterflies and quills.
Interestingly enough, there’s also eight arcade modes. You can play these in solo or local co-op with up to four players.
These include a racing game, a capture the flag mode, a shoot-em-up mini game and platforming challenges.
You can also power these arcade cabinets up by collecting special play coins in the single-player campaign.
Yooka-Laylee releases on PS4, Xbox One and PC at the start of April. It is also coming to Nintendo Switch although it isn’t clear if this will happen at the same time or at a later date.
