Sonic Mania Revealed, Being Developed By Melbourne Developer

In conjunction with Sonic’s 25th anniversary celebrations, Sonic Mania has been revealed with an expected release next year.

The game is a collaborative effort between SEGA, Christian Whitehead, Headcannon and PadogaWest Games. It appears to blend both new zones with remixes of classic levels, all playable with Sonic, Tails and Knuckles.

Christian Whitehead, an independent developer living in Melbourne, has been working with SEGA since 2011 and has been a catalyst in bringing the classic Sonic games to newer platforms, not through straight emulation, but through use of his own Retro Engine.
