Star Wars Celebration has been brimming with information about the brand since it began a few days ago but the first details about the big Star Wars game for 2017, Star Wars Battlefront II, has just arrived. Perhaps more surprisingly, the team putting together Battlefront II has opted to include content from the prequel era of films – but not in a way that you’d expect.
While the new Battlefront II will feature a campaign with an original story line, all prequel era content will make an appearance exclusively in the game’s Multiplayer modes.
While we’ve yet to confirm whether a VR Experience of Anakin and Padme rolling through grass and being annoyed by sand exists; weapons, planets, characters and ships that made appearances in Episodes 1 through 3 will feature in Battlefront II in some capacity.
So far we’ve only really seen Darth Maul appear as playable villain – but can we hope for Jar Jar in the future?
