Overwatch Loot Boxes Are About To Get Some Big Changes

In the latest Developer Update, Overwatch Game Director Jeff Kaplan has revealed that some significant updates are coming to Overwatch. Some of the more important ones are surrounding loot boxes and the highlights system.

In the video, Kaplan says that the update will reduce the number of duplicate loot boxes that players get. Further to this, players can also expect to get more credits that loot boxes give in general to compensate for the credit intake due to the reduced duplicates.

The highlights system is also getting changed. Firstly, the top five highlights the game automatically recommends will be saved for up to 24 hours instead of being deleted one you close the game.

You’ll also be able to look at a recently captured section where manually captured highlights will be kept. You’ll be able to bind a ‘capture’ key which you can use to manually save highlights. It’s said that 32 highlights can be saved at any given time.

Unfortunately, there isn’t yet a date for when we can expect to see these changes roll out but it should be in the near future.
