News that will no doubt excited the Minecraft community this evening as Microsoft formally announced that players will be able to play together no matter what device they are on – whether it be an Xbox, a Windows 10 PC or an Android/iOS device.

Microsoft also revealed that Minecraft Realms, the dedicated server service, will also be available for Xbox Live, Windows 10, iOS, Android and Gear VR devices. The service can be demoed for free.

Add-ons would also be made available for PC versions of Minecraft soon. Console versions will have the add-ons made available sometime next year.
