It looks like Blizzard will be releasing an Overwatch art book as well as a comic anthology, scheduled for release later this year.
The listing showcases both a standard edition and a limited edition of the Art of Overwatch, available for pre-order for USD$49.99 and USD$100 respectively, both hardcover books are scheduled for release on October 24, 2017.
The listing describes the standard edition of the Art of Overwatch; “In this beautiful hardcover, Blizzard Entertainment reveals the creative process behind one of the most popular FPS games of all time! Filled with never-before-seen art as well as commentary provided by the game’s development team, this book is sure to please any Overwatch fan.” and as for the limited edition; “This deluxe limited edition comes packaged in a beautiful clamshell box with magnetic closure and includes an acetate slipcover featuring the game’s most popular hero, Tracer, as well as two portfolios containing a total of three prints chosen by the Overwatch team!”
The comic collection, Overwatch: Anthology Volume 1, is also available for pre-order but is scheduled for release a little earlier, on October 10, 2017, for USD$19.99. According to the listing, “Your favorite Overwatch heroes’ backstories are revealed in this anthology from Dark Horse Books and Blizzard Entertainment!” which includes twelve issues of Blizzard’s Overwatch comics, written and illustrated by an all-star creative team including Matt Burns and Robert Brooks (World of Warcraft: Chronicle).
While Blizzard is yet to officially announce the upcoming companions to their best-selling game, the information provided by Amazon is all we need to get excited about these gorgeous books! We expect that this is just the beginning of exciting news during the lead up to Overwatch’s one year anniversary on May 24, 2017.
