After two weeks of voting in Press Start’s Most Anticipated Game of the Year Battle Royale, the final came down to Spider-Man and Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
WITH 54.23% OF THE VOTE, THE WINNER IS…
We started with sixteen games but after two rounds, only four remained. Spider-Man, Fallout 76, Red Dead Redemption 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate all vied for a position in the Grand Final.
Spider-Man toppled Fallout 76 comfortably winning with 60% of the votes across Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram but the real showdown was between Red Dead Redemption 2 and Super Smash Bros Ultimate. Rockstar’s juggernaut was tipped by many as the red-hot favourite, but the Smash fans rallied behind Sakurai’s swan-song to get it across the line by a narrow margin, with 52.63% of the vote.
Finally, Spider-Man, the hugely anticipated Insomniac superhero epic, faced off against Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
