Another year, another The Game Awards show. But this was especially special as it marked the show’s tenth anniversary with many announcements.
But there was so much stuff here that I’m not going to waste your time with a witty intro, so please read on and enjoy as we recap all of the announcements from The Game Awards 2024.
There was a HEAP announced, with a lot of surprises, especially for a burgeoning Capcom fan like myself.
Naughty Dog’s New Game Was Revealed And Takes Things In A Wildly Different Direction
The game has an incredible sci-fi setting with an even more incredible soundscape and a combat style that looks unlike anything Naughty Dog has done before. I’m incredibly keen. No date was announced – but it’s called Intergalactic: The Heretic’s Prophet.
We Got Our First Look At The Fourth Witcher Game Where Ciri Is The Star
The very, very cinematic trailer shows Ciri going into a forest to slay monsters as she takes center stage in this new saga. All you could ask for in a Witcher game really. It’s out in the future, but I think that means in 2026 or beyond.
Josef Fares’ New Game Is Called Split Fiction And Continues The It Takes Two Tradition
The game follows two aspiring writers who want their books to get published. The game looks to have a more sci-fi twang to it than It Takes Two, but it follows the same stellar design philosophy. You can expect it to hit on March 6th 2025.
Onimusha Is Finally Making The Come Back It Has Deserved FOR SO LONG
The game is called Onimusha: Way of the Sword, and it’s out in 2026. I might have squealed when I saw the souls floating around and realised what this was. It’s set in Kyoto during the early Edo period.
FromSoftware Is Chucking Out Another Elden Ring Game
The game is a standalone adventure with many new abilities, bosses and even co-op. It’s called Elden Ring: Nightreign, and it’s out in 2025.
Randy Pitchford Jumped On Stage To Show Off The First Gameplay Of Borderlands 4
While I wasn’t too hot on the third game, this does look better than that. It’s out in 2025.
The First Gameplay Of The Outer Worlds II Doesn’t Lose The Humour Of The Original
The trailer favourably compares itself to other games like Knights of the Old Republic II and Fallout New Vegas. It’s out in 2025 for both PlayStation 5 and Xbox, where it’ll also be on Game Pass.
The Blasphemous Team Is Making A New 2D Ninja Gaiden Game
The game looks similar to Blasphemous in terms of how it moves and animates but also incredibly fast-paced, bloody and frenetic. It’s called Ninja Gaiden Ragebound, and it’s out in 2025.
One Move Away Is A Moving Away Simulator If Unpacking Wasn’t Enough
The game is a first-person puzzle game that has you packing belongings for a move. You can play as three different characters, each with their own personal story.
We Got Our First Look At Gameplay Of Slay The Spire II
The game will feature a new and returning cast of characters, heaps of new cards and a whole bunch of game changing possibilities. The game hits early access in 2025.
Dave The Diver Is Getting A New Expansion
It’s called In The Jungle and it looks to take things away from the sea and into the waters of the jungle. It’s out in late 2025.
Thick As Thieves Is A New Game From Warren Spector
The game is a multiplayer game set in a living world from the minds who brought us games like Thief, Deus Ex and Epic Mickey. It’s a competitive game where players compete to steal treasure in an open environment.
Shadow Labyrinth Is A Great New Twist On Pac-Man
Incredibly unexpected but not unwelcome, the game is a 2D action platformer where you play as a Swordsman who uses Pac-Man for a variety of attacks. Watch the trailer, you won’t regret it.
Yu Suzuki’s Next Game Is Heading To Netflix
You play as a girl alongside her robots as she embarks to reclaim a mysterious tower. The game is coming to Netflix Mobile in 2025.
Kyora Is A New Game From The Core Keeper Team
The game has you mining resources, crafting magical wands, building bases and battling powerful bosses. It doesn’t have a date yet, but it looks more sinister than it seems.
Solasta II Might Scratch Your Baldur’s Gate Itch
The game has you bringing together a team of adventurers in a turn-based tactical RPG based on SRD 5E.
The SIFU People Are Making A Soccer Game Now
It’s called Rematch, and it has you playing Soccer in funky and out-there settings. It’s not for me, but Shannon reckons it looks good, and he actually plays Soccer games, so let’s believe him for now. It’s out in mid-2025.
Final Fantasy VII: Rebirth Is Coming To PC Next Month
It’s hitting PC on January 23rd 2025. All the graphical bells and whistles you’d expect from a PC port are included. No Xbox, still, though.
The Next Game From Fumito Ueda Was Shown But It Feels Early Days
The game has the same sombre tone you’d expect from Ueda, who previously gave us ICO, Shadow of the Colossus, and The Last Guardian. It doesn’t have a title yet, though I spotted PROJECT ROBOT in the trailer.

I absolutely enjoyed the first game. That’s all I have to say. This new footage shows off a new mode that is debuting with the sequel.
There’s A Brand New Virtua Fighter Game In Development
The trailer was a bit odd, but a dedicated presentation will tell us more about it later today.
The Next Game From The Like A Dragon Developers Will Be A History Lesson, Kind Of
RGG Studio is taking us to 1915 Japan in this new open-world brawler. It’s so early days it doesn’t have a name and is simply called Project Century for now.
There’s A Brand New Turok Game Even Though It Doesn’t Look Like Turok Much
The game has you taking on dinosaurs alone or in a group, and extracting DNA from them to enhance a bionic suit that you wear into combat. I’m not entirely sure, but happy to see the brand I know and love back. No release date was announced.
The New Update For Helldivers 2 Is Out Today And Quite Meaty
The update adds a new faction (the Illuminate) and vehicles to the game. It’s out right now. Dynamic.
