Following a very cryptic website launch with a page that only featured a glowing firefly revealing the jumbled letters t h i Q N L o #. What seemed to be gibberish, turned out to be the anagram htoL#NiQ, meaningHotaru no Nikki, or Firefly’s Diary in English. A new title by Nippon Ichi.
The new title will feature the player taking control of a firefly as the main character, leading a girl named Mion. Together, the duo will be traversing through mysterious ruins and dark places, and encountering unique enemies who dwell in those shadows who seek to kill the firefly’s companion.
The game’s lead designer will be the same as the critically acclaimed Disgaea series’, so we can definitively expect quality and unique visuals out of this new title.
Firefly’s Diary will be coming out on the Vita in June 19th of this year in Japan for 5,800 yen for the premium package featuring an artbook, soundtrack, and badges. The download only version will cost 3,086 yen.
