A Heap Of Great Games Are Leaving PlayStation Plus Extra Next Month So Play Them While You Can

That's a big chunk of games being taken away.

The PlayStation Plus Extra game catalogue is about to have one of its biggest mass exoduses in recent memory, with a whole 25 games being removed from the service when the next drop of games arrives on May 21st (thanks Push Square!).

Among the list of games disappearing, which can be seen in the console’s dedicated Subscriptions tab, are no less than seven Final Fantasy titles including classic and remastered versions of the PS1 and PS2 mainline titles as well as Final Fantasy XV and World of Final Fantasy. Also being sadly booted off the roster are some banger indies like The Artful Escape, The Messenger, Observation and Abzu.

If there’s anything in the below list that takes you fancy, be sure to check it out while you can – similar to Xbox Game Pass and many others, even if you’ve downloaded a game from PS+ before the removal, it won’t be playable any more unless you opt to buy it. Aren’t gaming subscriptions fun?

Here’s the full list:

This month’s line-up of games for PlayStation Plus Extra and Deluxe members has (mostly) arrived, and it’s a pretty decent month for variety and “day one” launches.

There are three games coming to PlayStation Plus Extra on their respective launch days this month, with Dave the Diver’s PlayStation debut coinciding with tonight’s drop, which will be followed by EA Originals and Surgent Studios’ Tales of Kenzera: ZAU on the 23rd, and finally the very surreal and cool-looking Animal Well slides in before next month’s update on May 9th.

Three new PS1 Classics have also arrived with MediEvil, Star Wars: Rebel Assault II and Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, which is a nice little trio.
