Crystal Dynamics, Square Enix and Microsoft have announced that the newest Tomb Raider game, titled as Rise of the Tomb Raider, will be coming to Xbox platforms exclusively. Releasing during the holiday period of 2015, the move looks to be a permanent exclusive and not a timed one.
A representative for Crystal Dynamics has come forward and spoken about the decision, mentioning that the choice to release exclusively with Microsoft will help them to put Tomb Raider “on top of action adventure gaming” and that it will assist in “forging the Tomb Raider brand as one of the biggest in gamng, with the help, belief and backing of a major partner like Microsoft”.
Players who don’t own Xbox platforms will still be able to play Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, releasing later this year in December for Xbox, Playstation and PC platforms.
