Sleeping Dogs fans, what was the best part of the Hong Kong action sandbox? Was it the atmosphere, the neon lights of Hong Kong that immersed you in the sights and sounds? Was it the tight combat, brutal yet always fun? Was it the fun if predictable story, with likable characters, a great arc for main character Wei Shen, and some really tense and exciting moments?
If your answer is all of the above than go ahead and cry, because the folks over at Square Enix have announced an official sequel, Triad Wars. The bad news? It’s a massively multiplayer online PC only game, described as an “online open-world action-adventure game” wherein you will build up a gang, build a hideout and take on rivals to conquer the Hong Kong undergound.
Sleeping Dogs was easily one of my favourite sandbox games, and I’m sure I’m not the only one who was excited to see a fully fledged single player sequel. However, it’s not all bad news, as United Front Games are determined to deliver a great online experience for PC players.
