Nintendo Australia have revealed the local release date for the Amiibo platform in Australia. On the 29th of November, one week before Super Smash Bros on Wii U, Nintendo will release Wave one of the Amiibos. Mario, Peach, Yoshi, Donkey Kong, Link, Samus, Fox, Wii Fit Trainer, Villager, Pikachu, Kirby and Marth will all grace your gaming collection.
Nintendo have jumped the gun in announcing a second wave of Amiibos. Releasing on December 12th will be Zelda, Diddy Kong, Luigi, Little Mac, Pit and Captain Falcon. The above Amiibo will all be themed in the Super Smash Bros collection. It is unclear whether Nintendo will release multiple versions of characters for multiple franchises.
Nintendo have also announced that Amiibo will support Mario Kart 8, Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker, Mario Party 10 and Yoshi’s. They will also be compatible out of the box with the newly announced ‘new’ 3DS. It will require an accessory to be used with the older 3DS consoles.
