More details have been revealed about the rumoured PlayStation 4.5. It is rumoured that the upgraded PS4 will launch before the PlayStation VR in October and will be capable of playing 4K video content.
The latest details come from The Wall Street Journal which sync up with previous stories from Kotaku and Eurogamer. It is expected that Sony will continue producing the existing PS4 as well as it’s more powerful successor.
It’s important to note that the PS4 can’t currently output in 4K content nor can it read 4K Blu-ray disks. Sony have previously hinted at the PS4 being 4K capable in the future. Netflix’s chief product officer suggested that Sony promised them at 4K capable PS4 earlier this year. The same is expected to come from Xbox.
