Ubisoft Opens New Studio in the Philippines

Ubisoft have today announced that it will open a new studio in the Philippines suitable named ‘Ubisoft Philippines’. The new branch will focus on development of AAA console games as well as collaboration with other Ubisoft studios. The studio will open up in the second quarter of 2016 with a goal of hiring 50 employees in it’s first year. It’s intended to grow to a team of 200 people in five years.

Ubisoft Philippines will be the second Ubisoft studio located in Southeast Asia. Ubisoft Singapore has been producing games since 2008. The studio has made significant contributions to top-tier games such as Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.

Ubisoft Philippines will be located on the campus of De La Salle University in Santa Rosa Laguna. The manager of the studio will be a five year veteran from the Singapore team.
