Xbox One To Get New Features & Functionality

Phil Spencer has revealed during the Live Build 2016 conference that a number of new features will be coming to both the Xbox One and Windows 10 in the near future. The first major improvement is the implementation of a single unified store across all devices.

The Xbox One will also be gaining the ability to play music in the background. It’s likely that this will use Microsoft’s own Groove music program. It’s unlikely that we’ll see Spotify join the Xbox One yet as Spotify announced a timed exclusive partnership with Sony.

Microsoft also announced that Cortana is coming to Xbox this winter. Just like on the Windows 10 PC, you’ll be able to ask her miscellaneous questions and get a quick response. Obviously, you’ll need Kinect 2.0 in order to use this.

Spencer also announced that other updates will be announced at E3 and will be apart of their Anniversary update.
