Microsoft have announced that starting this Thursday, they will be releasing over a million inactive gamertags. They’ll be released over a 24 hour period allowing everybody to have an equal chance to get their hands on one. Whilst they can’t release the full list, they have revealed that a number of popular tags will be available to those that have had Xbox Live Gold for at least a year. Microsoft recommend that you make the gamertag changed on Xbox.com
Some of the gamertags that will be made available are from the following categories:
- Proper Names
- Pop culture references (Entertainment, sports, gaming)
- Types of Food
- Geography and Travel
- Science and Technology
- Math and Numbers
- Animals
- Some of the greatest inventions of all time
