Amazon’s Global Logistics Senior Manager has confirmed to the Sydney Morning Herald that Amazon is officially coming to Australia.
By the end of next year, Australians will be able to use the online shopping service to purchase a massive amount of products, including games, groceries, clothing and takeaway food. Further to this, we’ll also be getting Amazon Prime and Amazon Fresh.
Whilst there’s been months of rumours about Amazon coming to Australia, we now have confirmation that Amazon plans to launch “as many services and products as possible within Australia”.
When it comes to timing, the company would only confirm that it would have it’s website up and running by the end of 2018. It’s quite possible that our range of products won’t be as extensive as what’s available in America, but it’s definitely set to shakeup the Australian retail market. Amazon did say that it had no plans to launch retail stores just yet.
