Twitch has announced #TwitchUnity, which is an entire day dedicated to streamers making sure that people know that anybody is welcome on Twitch.
Twitch is encouraging all streamers to take some time on May 26th to celebrate inclusively and diversity. They want streamers to talk about a time that they felt included on Twitch as well as why diversity and inclusion of viewers is important to them.
To celebrate the day, Twitch will also launch a brand new global emote. They’ve also released a TwitchUnity T-shirt which is available for $33 until May 25th. You can find that HERE. All proceeds from the sale will go to Amnesty International.
I absolutely love the concept of this. Gaming can often bring out both the best and worst in people. There’s many examples of people making other feel included and there’s also a lot of examples in online gaming that we need to try and stamp out.
