Blizzard Is Working On A New Overwatch Game

The spontaneous listing of a brand new intern position at Blizzard’s headquarters in California has lead us to believe that a new and officially unannounced Overwatch title is currently in the works.

According to the listing for a “generalist artist intern”, applicants are recommended to have a “Knowledge and understanding of the Overwatch universe,”. This statement alone has people wondering whether Blizzard might be working on a spin-off title, perhaps an Overwatch mobile game, Hearthstone style card game or even a 2D fighter.

It wouldn’t be surprising if Blizzard had indeed decided to capitalize on the wild success of their team-based shooter by releasing a spin-off title but whether this is the kind of product that fans of Overwatch really want from the developer is yet to be seen.

The specific details of the listing are below:

An unannounced project at Blizzard is seeking an intern to help create a wide range of assets to help bring our game to life. You will work closely with our concept, environment and character teams to create hard surface and organic props, weapons and possibly characters that are both detail-oriented and consistent with the art style we’ve defined.

Previously work on game projects as a prop artist or an equivalent type role.

Until we know more, Overwatch is currently gearing up for its second annual Halloween event, “Halloween Terror 2017”, you can check out some of the leaked skins here.
