Oxenfree’s Follow-Up Afterparty Looks Pretty Great

Oxenfree developer Night School Studio gave us our first proper look at Oxenfree’s follow-up, Afterparty, which sees you pub crawl through Hell itself to outdrink Satan and earn passage back to the land of the living.

In a way, it’s Pixar’s Coco for adults.

The game, which is visually striking, to say the least, follows Milo and Lola, best friends in the underworld who find themselves facing a long stay in Hell. That is unless they can drink Satan under the table to save their souls. Afterparty retains both Oxenfree’s narrative-focused style and its gorgeous art direction. Afterparty appears to feature a near-identical conversation tree that made Oxenfree so wonderfully unique when it released.

“What adventures will you stumble through in the underworld?” asks Night School Studio.

“Every step is up to you. Time to go on the best bender ever, uncover the mystery of why you’ve been damned, and drink the big guy under the table”.

So the premise is certainly unique and the studio’s track record is, so far, iron-clad so expect Afterparty to crush it when it releases. That’s where the bad news comes, as it isn’t slated for release on PC until 2019.
