Around three months ago, rumours were circulating that a new Star Wars game was being developed by an “unexpected team”. We’ve not had many updates on that project, though other reports seem to insist it’s something to do with the Knights of the Old Republic.
According to Bloomberg reporter Jason Schreier on a recent episode of the MinnMax podcast, the game is a full-blown remake of the original Knights of the Old Republic. It’s also being developed by Aspyr, who have previously ported the two KOTOR games to Mac, Android and iOS platforms.
The unannounced Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic remake will be developed by renowned port studio Aspyr, marking one of the first times they’ve worked on a project that’s more than a straight port.
.@jasonschreier confirms that Aspyr Media (of all studios!) is working on a KOTOR remake in our new interview. We hope you enjoy the full discussion! https://t.co/vv0bljO35B https://t.co/IJdIIGY0aU

Other reports seem to suggest that the remake will bring in other elements from both Knights of the Old Republic games too, in an effort to “bring certain things into the current Star Wars canon”.
We’ll keep you updated as more details emerge, but given so many sources seem to have independently confirmed the project, it sounds like we’ll be revisiting The Old Republic once more this generation.
How exciting!
