In addition to the announcement of Kingdom Hearts IV at last night’s 20th anniversary celebration, a pair of limited Kingdom Hearts self-winding, mechanical timepieces have been announced for pre-order and to say they’re pricey is an understatement.
They might not hit Rolex levels of decadence, but each watch (there are both round and heart-shaped options) tops out at $1,163AUD each after a conversion from the company’s native yen, where they’re listed as ¥107,800.
For those who aren’t prepared to lash out that kind of money, there’s an alternate Quartz-like style, available in both silver and black, that runs a little cheaper at just $415AUD.
Beyond these timepieces, the Square Enix store is selling all kinds of exorbitant Kingdom Hearts merchandise, from jewellery to drinking glasses. The latter of which still has an asking price of $831AUD, but it’s worth noting the pieces are all handmade.
