The Studio Behind Silent Hill: Ascension Is Also Working On Borderlands And DC Heroes Interactive Series

Poll Vault.

Genvid Entertainment, the studio behind The Walking Dead: Last Mile which launched on Facebook Gaming last year and the upcoming Silent Hill: Ascension, revealed at San Diego Comic-Con over the weekend that it’s got two more interactive streaming series’ in the pipeline – Borderlands EchoVision and DC Heroes United.

EchoVision Live is set to take viewers on a Borderlands safari journey, following eight extreme tourists whose fates will be shaped by the audience as the series progresses, whereas DC Heroes United will take established characters like Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman and give fans the opportunity to shape their experiences in the lead up forming the Justice League. Interestingly, Genvid says the series will be DC canon, including the decisions and outcomes made by viewers, giving fans the rare opportunity to come together to forever shape the DC narrative.

The studio hasn’t announced streaming platforms or release dates for either series. You can see the press releases for both from the Genvid Entertainment blog below:

Borderlands EchoVision Live

  • The interactive series explores the (mis)adventures of eight unsuspecting tourists who find themselves in peril, marooned on Eden-6 after setting off on an “Adventure Safari” to follow in the footsteps of Vault Hunters and bask in their glory.
  • Audiences from around the world will determine whether these all-new characters make it from zeroes-to-heroes, how they handle the pressure, how they relate to each other, and what kind of person – and future Vault Hunter – each of them is.
  • Fans will have direct and permanent influence on the story and characters of Borderlands: EchoVision Live, an unfolding narrative experience in which all audience members engage over which story decisions are made and collectively experience a shared outcome.

The Story

Eight wannabe Vault Hunters fork over their hard-earned cash for a safely guided tour of Eden-6 – all the excitement with none of the danger! What could possibly go wrong?

Turns out a lot.

What’s meant to be a three-week vacation turns into a permanent nightmare when the tourists find themselves stranded in the backwater town of Greywater Junction. Surrounded on all sides by cutthroats, bandits, and low-thread-count sheets, these unfortunate dilettantes must overcome their fears, failings, and greed in order to band together, rise to the occasion, and avoid the many, MANY bullets with their names on them.

Massive Audience Decisions

Designed from the ground-up with massive community involvement at the core of the experience, global participants will directly impact how this Borderlands adventure unfolds. The audience will engage to determine how these zeroes to sort-of-heroes rise to the occasion to take on the increasingly dire threats to Greywater Junction. Reputations, relationships, and even rewards are at stake – and the actions of millions will determine these characters’ fates.

DC Heroes United

Today at San Diego Comic Con, Genvid Entertainment announced DC Heroes United, an interactive streaming series, licensed by Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment on behalf of DC, where fans will determine what kinds of DC Super Heroes and Super-Villains our beloved characters will become. Fans determine how Superman, Wonder Woman and Batman work together and whether they succeed or fail – leading up to the very formation of the Justice League. The entire canonical story of DC Heroes United is up to the participating audience to decide. And the outcomes of their choices will be forever imprinted in DC canon.

When the story of Earth-212 begins, our favourite Super Heroes and Super-Villains remain in the shadows, largely unknown to one another and mostly serving as legend and rumour to civilians. The appearance of the magical Tower of Fate in Gotham City thrusts these fledgling heroes into the spotlight – together and in opposition.

As DC Heroes United unfolds, the audience will make choices of morality, leadership and sacrifice on behalf of its leads. Viewers will decide whether The Dark Knight and Man of Steel work well together, whether they trust one another, and how much. How Batman responds to Wonder Woman and Superman fighting crime in Gotham City. Whether Lex Luthor gives into his darker desires. And ultimately, who fights for good, evil, or themselves, and why.

A story whose decisions become immutable DC multiverse canon, DC Heroes United will feature a plethora of DC Comic Super Heroes and Super-Villains beyond the Trinity. Genvid also teamed up with the renowned artist Terry Dodson to bring this epic origin story to life.
