The Top 10 Games In Australia And New Zealand

What's charting lately?

What games have Aussie and New Zealand players been picking up most in recent weeks? That’s the question we’re answering every Monday with thanks to the weekly Top 10 ANZ Games Charts from the folks over at the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA).

The latest report, which comes from the week ending May 19th, 2024, saw a very clear winner in both nations with the unstoppable might of Grand Theft Auto V muscling its way back into the top spot for the week. After taking out the win in the previous week, the freshly-launched 1.0 version of vampire survival RPG, V Rising, has shuffled down to #5 and #8 in Australia and NZ respectively. Another newer release, the PC-only Homeworld 3 from Blackbird Interactive and Gearbox Publishing, has shown that Aussies and Kiwis alike are keen on a bit of intergalactic strategising and space battling at their desks.

Given that the week reported is also the same week that Ubisoft officially revealed Assassin’s Creed Shadows, it’s not surprising to see a few folks have finally decided to pick up last year’s entry, with Assassin’s Creed Mirage making its way back into the charts. Similarly, Aussie gamers are seemingly looking to brush up on their Elden Ring skills ahead of the release of the Shadow of the Erdtree DLC later next month.
