PlayStation Stars Is Coming Back After Nearly A Month Offline

Thank the Stars!

After being down for nearly a month, the PlayStation Stars program looks like it’s finally on track to returning, albeit slowly.

The service, which lets players earn rewards points for making purchases or completing challenges and spend them on game vouchers, games or digital collectibles, went down during PlayStation’s big Days of Play celebrations near the beginning of June and has been that way since. Interestingly, the Stars icon within the PS App got an update recently but didn’t signal a fix at the time.

Now, on the official PlayStation Stars web page, a message reads, “PlayStation Stars will be returning soon in phased regional rollouts. Thank you for your patience and we look forward to welcoming you back.”

According to Redditors, Stars looks to be back up already in some Asian regions. At the time of writing nothing has changed locally, but hopefully it’s not too far off.

Earlier during the outage, PlayStation acknowledged that the problems had interrupted at least one Days of Play-related promotion, saying, “We’re aware of an issue with PlayStation Stars and are actively working on a solution. We’ll share more information on redeeming the Days of Play Community Celebration Digital Collectible as soon as we have it.”

To tide folks over, it offered up four exclusive Astro avatars that can be redeemed via a voucher code on the PlayStation Store. If you’re yet to do so, the code is below and should be active until at least July 11th:
