The Top 10 Games In Australia And New Zealand

Nature is healing.

What games have Aussie and New Zealand players been picking up most in recent weeks? That’s the question we’re answering every week with thanks to the weekly Top 10 ANZ Games Charts from the folks over at the Interactive Games & Entertainment Association (IGEA).

The latest report, which comes from the week ending august 4th, 2024, sees a return to normal after an absolutely bewildering shake-up in the previous week’s data, where 2023’s unenthusiastically-received Everybody 1-2 Switch managed to crack the top spot out of nowhere.

This time, the unstoppable Grand Theft Auto V has taken back its crown and polled at the #1 position in both Australia and New Zealand, trailed by the likes of Elden Ring and the recently-released EA Sports College Football 25, along with the usual suspects on the list like Red Dead Redemption 2, NBA 2K24 and some form of COD game (Modern Warfare III here, no doubt bolstered by newfound popularity as part of the Game Pass catalogue). Interesting, EA Sports’ FC 24 has dropped off of both lists entirely while Hitman: World of Assassination and South Park: The Fractured But Whole have snuck in, likely due to some sales activity.

Take a look at the full, updated Top 10 list from both countries below:
