Nintendo has announced their plans to take part in Gamescom 2025 this year, following their absence last year to presumably plan and focus on the yet-to-be-announced Nintendo Switch 2 console.

With the console set for launch in June, the publisher has confirmed its plans on X to be present for the expo, which takes place in Cologne, Germany between August 20 and August 24.

The post from Nintendo Germany’s official account reads: “Mark your calendars in red, Nintendo will be back at Gamescom in 2025. We look forward to welcoming you to Cologne from August 20th to August 24th!”

With much of their launch-window slate confirmed, it’s presumed much of Nintendo’s focus for the event will surround Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokemon Z-A which are set to launch later in the year.

The Nintendo Switch 2 launches worldwide on June 5, 2025.
