DKC 2: Diddy’s Kong Quest Still Has People Confused 20 Years Later

In one of the most incredible threads that I’ve ever seen popup on NeoGAF, poster ‘Dr. Feel Good’ asked the community why ‘Donkey Kong Country 2 was called Diddy’s Kong Quest instead of Diddy Kong’s Quest. Now whilst this might have confused us as youngens in 1995, it’s pretty evident that it’s a play on the word Conquest. RARE have been known to do this with quite a few of their game titles and character names. Screen Shot 2016-07-04 at 2.40.39 PMIt didn’t take long for the rest of the community to shut him down with the first 3 posters swiftly letting him know for the obvious reason in which RARE named Donkey Kong Country 2.Screen Shot 2016-07-04 at 2.40.53 PMJust incase that wasn’t good enough for you, the OP’s mind was blown again just minutes later when a poster revealed that the name of the main enemy type in Donkey Kong Country was also a hilarious play on words. Obviously we’re talking about Kaptain K. Rool (Kaptain Cruel).Screen Shot 2016-07-04 at 2.41.11 PM

Reading the thread and writing this post made me realise just how much that I miss the Donkey Kong Country series and the games that RARE used to produce back in the day.
