Less than a week ago, Pokemon GO launched first in Australia, sending our country into frenzy with brands embracing the game, and gamers discovering parks that they didn’t know existed in search for Pokemon.
Today, Sydney Pokemon GO fans have come together to form one ginormous group of Pokemon masters. Brought together by Content Manager of PAX Australia Guy ‘Yug’ Blomberg and former EA employee Jess ‘Jiggsy’ Hodgson, fans walked all the way from Sydney’s Royal Botanic Garden to the Sydney Opera House.
Whilst the event garnered more than 5,000 RSVPs on Facebook, somewhere between 1000 and 2000 Pokemon hunters showed up at the event.
Similar events have taken place in Perth and Melbourne over the weekend in what are the first in what is set to be many gatherings of Pokemon fans all over Australia.
