Nintendo has today announced that during the month of March, they managed to ship 2.74 million Nintendo Switch units worldwide.

Nintendo originally estimated that they’d sell roughly 2 million units, so it’s obvious that the Zelda effect played a massive part in shipping more units.

Impressively, Nintendo has also announced that they’ve managed to sell 5.46 million units of software in the first quarter for Nintendo Switch, which is pretty decent considering there hasn’t been much else to play outside of Breath of the Wild to this point.

Nintendo is aiming to ship a modest number of 10 million units of hardware in FY 17/18.

Nintendo also revealed that they shipped 2.74 million copies of Zelda: Breath of the Wild which is practically unheard of. This means they shipped more copies of the game than the console.
