Bethesda Had The Best Games Of 2017 According To Metacritic

Metacritic has released their 2018 Game Publisher Rankings and Bethesda have topped the charts just ahead of Nintendo.

Four criteria are used to figure out the ranking. Average Metascore for all games released, % of scored games with good reviews (75+), % of scored games with bad reviews (49 or lower) and number of great titles (score of 90+).

Bethesda had an average Metascore of 79.9 slightly ahead of Nintendo with 78.0. Whilst Nintendo technically had better games, they also had a lot more that scored worse than Bethesdas, which brought their overall average down. For instance Bethesda’s worse game was DOOM VFR with 69% whilst Nintendo’s was Flip Wars with 53%.
